Each year the Atikokan Chamber works diligently to promote Atikokan to potential visitors and undertakes many other activities to benefit our members:
What we do:
- Host the Let's Go Outdoors Show, in partnership with our local Lions Club.
- Organize an Annual General Meeting & Business Awards Night to recognize the outstanding efforts of local businesses and employees.
- Publish a Business Directory (distributed locally) and a Business Services Guide (distributed internationally) to help promote our members.
- Operate the Tourist Information Center, in partnership with the Township of Atikokan.
- Encourage residents to SHOP LOCALLY through a year-round gift certificate program and Christmas marketing campaign.
- Post a monthly column in the Atikokan Progress to inform the public of our many activities.
- Represent our members at meetings held by the Northwestern Ontario Associated Chambers of Commerce (NOACC).
- Lend in-kind support to many other community projects.
Besides the numerous things we do during the year, we also try to recruit new members so that ALL local businesses can benefit from what the Chamber has to offer. |
