Carnival/Trade Show a Hit with Business Community
Response to the Chamber of Commerce Trade show, to be held this weekend in conjunction with the Lions Carnival, has exceeded expectations. Over 20 businesses will be on hand o display their wares and meet the community.
The businesses represented will run the gamut from financial services to automotive services. The full line-up includes Bell Canada, Sears, Quetico Wood, Investors, Joerg’s Financial Services, Touch of Nature, Refresh Water, World/Book Childcraft, The Soap Factory, Northern Lights Solar Systems, Perron’s Photo, Atikokan Automotive, Marsha’s Arts and Crafts, Creative Kids Toys, Shearcroft Computer, Mcleod’s, Sunset Country Sports, and Mother Hubbard’s Cupboard. Agencies such as the Atikokan Economic Development Corporation, the Child Abuse Prevention Committee and Atikokan Community Training round out the list.
The Trade Show will be in addition to the regular carnival activities: bingo, balloons, crown and anchor, over and under, fish pond, coconut booth, face painting, food, drinks and treats.
New this year are rides from Al’s Wonderland (Thunder Bay), including go-karts for children and adults, whip rides, and the like.
Activities get underway Friday at 2pm and will run until 10pm; Saturday’s hours are noon until 9pm.
