Chamber offers resort tour

The Atikokan tourist information centre officially opened its doors for the 1995 season on May 19. Right now we are operating the booth seven days a week, 10 am to 6 pm. After Canada Day those hours will be extended to 8 am to 8 pm daily.

The Chamber, with the help of the Township, the Sunset Country Travel Association, and several provincial grant programs, has hired three students and a senior. They are ably augmented by a big group of volunteers - mostly seniors – that have been helping out for the past two seasons.

The Chamber always welcomes local groups, schools, and organizations who might wish to use the welcome centre for a walk in the woods, a picnic or other special event.

We will again offer two bus tours of area resorts for our volunteers and students at the centre. This tour is a chance to get, firsthand, an idea of what the resorts have to offer. The tours will leave from Quetico Bus Lines at 1 pm on both Tuesday and Wednesday (June 27 and 28).

Anyone interested in joining the tour should contact the Chamber office at 597-1599.
